Navigator has proven experience and success working with clients on funding and contract opportunities at the federal, state, and local levels. We tailor client strategies and engage legislative support for specific funding or contract opportunities, and coordinate client-agency communication. Our team works with a wide variety of state and federal agencies and has accessed funding for a myriad of projects such as economic development, transportation projects, and research programs. We understand the process of government procurement, from pre-RFP through award, and know how to best market our clients’ products and services, protect incumbency, or support award challenges.
Insurance
Our team brings decades of experience in property, casualty, life, and health insurance, as well as reinsurance. Furthermore, we understand the sensitive regulatory environment in which insurers operate, and are prepared to overcome barriers to success. Finance and Tax
Our team advocates for our clients on a number of tax policies and trade issues. Tax codes are complex and continually altered by their respective legislatures. We work with our clients to advocate for tax policies in line with their business interests. Our successes include working with industries to support incentive programs, modifying state corporate income tax codes to address tax liability, representing public utilities on tax exempt financing, and dozens of additional tax credit and taxation issues.
Financial Services
Our work in the financial services industry encompasses banking, payments, housing, and all the technology that goes with the industry. Modern advances in financial technology have caused an ever-evolving policy discussion at the state and federal levels. Our team has built a strong policy practice around not only traditional financial services companies, but also emerging industries (fintech, debt, e-commerce, etc.) . Regulators, including the attorneys general, often put these companies in their crosshairs. We have extensive experience helping our clients with those efforts.
Transportation
Our representation of this sector, from road-building interests to technology to new and emerging modes of delivery and autonomous vehicles, provides a strong framework for companies with interest in opportunities here. Multi State
Navigator assists companies and associations with legislative and procurement lobbying needs across multiple jurisdictions, whether state or local. Many companies do not have enough dedicated resources to properly staff government affairs/public affairs, thus leaving in-house managers of that spread too thin. We ease that pressure by acting as an outsourced extension of company personnel. This is often more cost-effective than hiring on one or more additional staff. Sometimes this is identifying and deploying resources in a particular jurisdiction, other times it is pinch-hitting as a witness in committee, and still other times something else. We address the needs of our partner companies as they arise.
